Technical Skills
Primary strengths: Can hand-code (without WYSIWYG editors) lean, clean, standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible, semantically rich, accessible HTML5 (upgrading from XHTML) coupled with highly effective and advanced CSS usage, including CSS3, responsive web design and LESS CSS, generally utilizing my own customized version of HTML5 Boilerplate. Also work with slicing PSDs, JavaScript (jQuery generally used now though for more unobtrusive scripting), XML, PhotoShop and Illustrator, sIFR/Cufón/@font-face, some PHP, some Ajax, etc. Experience in the past with Adobe Flash, Interwoven TeamSite, and MySQL.
HTML/CSS/jQuery Skills:
- Properly structured and indented (XML/Firebug-style) HTML5 for DOM manipulation
- Proper, semantic use of HTML elements
- Cross-browser, cross-platform compatible
- Only CSS-based layouts used; no table-based page layouts
- Tables, however, are put to their proper, W3C-recommended use of presenting tabular data
- Light file size; no extraneous code
- Completely hack-free code
- Child, sibling, and other advanced CSS selectors used for maximum code efficiency
- Pixel-perfect PSD to XHTML conversion
- jQuery used for unobtrusive scripting and AJAX-style user interactivity
- Media queries utilized for print, handheld, mobile and tablet output
Have recently attended Meetups on Node.js and Twitter Bootstrap. Recently presented on HTML5.
